What Organisations Have Said
Zulkifli Azman
Head of IT, Financial Services · KL
We brought Corvex Labs in to review a proposal from an AI vendor we had been considering for over six months. The written paper they produced raised three questions we had not thought to ask. One of those turned out to be significant enough that we renegotiated the contract terms before signing. Worth the engagement fee several times over.

The internal tools consultation took about three weeks. What I appreciated most was that the adviser was direct about the fact that one of the use cases we had in mind was not well-suited to current tooling given our data situation. That honesty probably saved us from a frustrating six months of trying to make something work that would not have.

We engaged Corvex Labs to set up monitoring arrangements for a document classification system we had been running for about eight months with no formal oversight in place. The monitoring charter they produced is concise enough that the team actually uses it — not a lengthy framework document that sits in a folder.

Our institution was evaluating two AI platforms for administrative use. Corvex Labs reviewed both proposals and attended one vendor presentation with us. The findings paper gave our procurement committee a clear basis for the decision, which is exactly what we needed given the governance requirements we work under.

The consultation process was straightforward. The scope was agreed in writing at the outset, which meant there were no surprises in what was delivered. The final paper was detailed enough to be useful without being longer than it needed to be — something I have not always experienced with advisory work.

We had a natural language processing system in production without any formal monitoring structure. The engagement with Corvex Labs produced a practical set of dashboards and a clear responsibility structure for responding when something goes outside the expected range. Khoo worked directly with our engineering team throughout, which made implementation straightforward.

Engagement Summaries
Three accounts of how the engagement process worked and what it produced for the organisations involved.
Challenge
A Malaysian financial services firm had received two competing proposals from AI platform providers for a document processing application. The proposals were technically complex and the buying team lacked confidence in evaluating the vendor claims independently.
Approach
Corvex Labs reviewed both proposals in full, attended a technical demonstration with one vendor, and prepared a set of written questions for the buying team to put to the second vendor. Each proposal was assessed against the same set of criteria.
Outcome
The written findings paper identified that one vendor's accuracy claims were measured under conditions that did not match the client's actual documents. The client renegotiated the contract terms with that vendor, resulting in adjusted SLA commitments before signing.
"Having someone in the room who was there to represent our interests, rather than to close a deal, changed the dynamic of the vendor conversation considerably."
Challenge
A university administrative team wanted to explore whether an AI tool could assist with summarising and routing internal queries. They were unsure about feasibility given the variety of query types and the limitations of their existing documentation.
Approach
The consultation examined the actual query types the team handled, the quality and structure of existing documentation, and the oversight capacity of the team. A staged approach was designed that would begin with the most well-structured query category.
Outcome
The feasibility paper identified one strong candidate use case and two that would require documentation improvements before AI tooling was viable. The institution used the paper to plan a phased implementation over two academic terms.
"The consultation gave us a realistic picture of where we actually stood, rather than where we might like to be. That was more useful than optimism would have been."
Challenge
A logistics company had deployed a route optimisation model twelve months prior. The model was performing adequately but no formal process existed for detecting when outputs drifted or when input data quality degraded.
Approach
The engagement identified the metrics most meaningful for this particular deployment, established review thresholds based on operational tolerances, and worked with the engineering team to build practical dashboard views. A monitoring charter was produced to assign responsibilities.
Outcome
The monitoring arrangement has been in place for six months. On two occasions, the dashboard flagged input quality issues before they affected route recommendations, allowing the team to respond before any operational impact was experienced.
"The monitoring charter is one page. That is exactly how long it needs to be for the team to actually consult it."
